Artificial fertilisers are also shown, and many other articles showing the uses to which the various by-products are put. The display will be specially interesting to the farmers, as the company is now a farmers' co-operative concern, being the outcome of (he merging of various companies for the purpose of placing the bacon industry on a co-operative basis in the hands of ihe farmers. As showing the progress which the company has made since it commenced in October. lfllti, it may be mentioned that no less (ban approximately 23,000 shares have been taken up by farmers in Ihe various districts. The company now consists of approximately aOOO farmer shareholders, and .17 dairy companies, and carries on the operations of ham and bacon curcrs, packers and freezers of beef products, meat eanuers, and fertiliser manufacturers. .The existence of this concern has met a long-felt want throughout the North Island, as the company has works at Auckland, I'ranktou Junction, Te Aroha, Elthaiu, and Wellington, and is able to cater for Ihe farmers at these various points.
