CIVIL LIFE RESUMED
PROTECTION'OF EX-SOLDIERS. Tho following Tomits dealing with the wdfnre of returned soldiers wero adopted by the annnal conference of tho United Federation of Labour yesterday:1. That each district council should forward to tho federation executive a draft of what it thinks would bo suitable for the ample protection of the returned soldiers, having regard for their permanent welfare. 2. That the federation executive should, then issue by circular to cach district council tho opinions received from the different' councils, who would then forward to tho federation executive the result of their deliberations. 3. After having received the final decisions from the district council?, tho executive should then request the attendance from each district council of one delegate, who, in conjunction with other delegates and the federation executive, should then, from tho material .obtained in tho above manner, formulate a policy to be adopted by all bodies affiliated to the Federation of Labour. The proposals emanated from the Otago Labour, Council.
