Tlio meeting was concluded, ami certain matters wero left iu tho hands of the executive, Tho coal-mine owners wore invited to meet tho Acting-Prime Minister (Sir James Allen), tho Hons, W. D. R. MncDoiutUl, A. Myers, and \V. 11. Merries yesterday. Al'li-r discussing tho position with tlio Ministers, tho owners agreed to put (heir views in tho form of a letter to tlio Minister of Mines. Tlio Auting-l'riino Minister (Sir James Allen) stated yesterday that ho and other Ministers had met representatives of the Coal-mino Owners' Association, just us they had oh a previous occasion nip.t representatives of (.lie miners unions. Tho owners had been considering tho request of tho unions for a conference on tlio question of nr. incrcaso of 20 per cent, in wnges. and the mineowners were submitting in writing their reply to this proposal for a conference. This reply would bo. communicated by the Minister of Mines (Mr. Mac Donald) to tho Coal-miners' Federation.
