Tlio Auting-l'riino Minister (Sir James Allen) stated yesterday that ho and other Ministers had met representatives of the Coal-mino Owners' Association, just us they had oh a previous occasion nip.t representatives of (.lie miners unions. Tho owners had been considering tho request of tho unions for a conference on tlio question of nr. incrcaso of 20 per cent, in wnges. and the mineowners were submitting in writing their reply to this proposal for a conference. This reply would bo. communicated by the Minister of Mines (Mr. Mac Donald) to tho Coal-miners' Federation.
