DBA PER 8' ASSISTANTS CHARGED., Three girls and a young married woInnn, employed an assistants in drapers' shops in Cuba Street, were charged beiore Mr. W. G. Uiddell, S.M., at the Mngisl.rale'.-j Court yesterday with having stolen various articles of drapery belonging to their employers. Tho names of the accused wore Doris Bustin, Cecilia llanner, Eileen Bruton, and Bertha Evans. Bustin, Harmer, and Evans were of having stolen goods belonging "to Joseph Llewellyn Evans, and Bruton ivith having taken a .pair of stockings, ■the property of Barry, aud Shako 3. •lvrans was- also charged with having reteived a pair of gloves from Bustin, as well ns other articles from Harmer, 'knowing Hint they had been dishonestly obtained. Mr. P. W. Jackson appeared for Bustin. All the accused pleaded guilty. The period in which the offences occurred ranged over the months of March, April, May, and June. Chief-Detective Boddam, who prosecuted, eaid the property had been recovered. There was nothing previously known against Ihe accused. Mr. Jackson asked for leniency for thefiirl Buatin, who, he said,- had neither father-nor mother. .Accused had probably yielded to a temptation, being joung and inexperienced. She had expressed sorrow lor her conduct. It km stuted that Bustin earned 353. per week, Evans 235., Harmer 355., and Bruton liss.
