LIVE STOCK SALES

The Wairarapa Farmers' Co-operative Association, Ltd., stock department, Palliatua, report on tho following sales held (luring the past week. On June 26 we held a clearing sale of dairy stock and sundries at Putara, near Kketahuna, on account of ilesarß. Dean Brothers. The cows were a, medium lot, and only in fair condition. As the weather was particularly rough, the attendance was nol quite so large as could be expected. The best cows, however, met with good demand, a fair number selling at from £1J lo £10 155., the herd of 51 averaging ,£ll 35., which mtißt be considered highly satisfactory, especially as many of the cows were very late calvers. The milking machines realised £65 and the steam boiler £60. A large quantity of sundries sold at good clearing sales rates. At Ilopelands oil June 27 we disposed ol' Mr. If. Pallisoii's dairy herd. The cows were a particularly gool lot-mostly grade Jerseys. Prices realised show that, this was one of the most successful sales held in the disti'.ct for some time, top prices for the four hest cows being two at £25 ss„ one at £26, and one at £25 10s., the herd of 21 making the satisfactory average of £18 per head.
