TE ARO SCHOOL COMMITTEE
Mr. M. A. W. M'Konzie presided nt a meeting of tlio committee of the Te Aro School on Jloiulay evening, jilr. Peter who again look his scat, was welcomed by the committee. Airs. S. Evans, a member, reported on the health of tha school district. After discussion, in which the apparent gradual restriction of 'the powers and usefulness of education hoards was dwelt upon,, the following resolution was carried: "That, in the opinion of this committee, the present method of election of members to seats on the education boards requires consideration by. the Government, as in ; this committee's opinion it is lower the standard of those bodies bv preventing the most suitable candidates risking a contest, tho result of which is in the of combined commitleos.
