THE SAMOAN FORCE
RECRUITS WANTED,
The Director nf Recruiting wants rocruits for the Samoan Force, and is making a special--, appeal to First Division men who have been classed C 2 on account of age These are the men -who r.re between 44 and 46 years of age, and who nre automatically pronounced to Ijo unfit for active service. In a. circular letter forwarded to First Division men, aged W, 4i>, and 46, the Director of Recruiting states Hint'one of the duties placed upon .New Zealand is the holding and guarding of Samoa. But on the other hand every physical fit recruit- is required for the West front or for the Near East, and men of this class cannot be, used for purely garrison work in Samoa.' Under these .conditions the Director of Recruitiif" makes, an appeal to physically fit First Division men, who have been classed C2-on account of age, to volunteer for service with the Samoan Force. : The pay and conditions of service are the same as in'the foreign service branch of the Expeditionary Force.
