The ,big strike in August, apart from loss of revjncio, cost the Stato ,£189,000. Loan expenditure was kept down to_,£1,020,000, and lliis vear it is proposed to limit it to <£2,1.00,000. Tho revenue of Viclcria totalled .£12,269,710, giving a surplus ofi .£350,580. South Australia's returns show that tho revenue amounted to .£5,531,772, an increase of iO7-3,388 compared with the previous year. It is expected that a surplus of 23,000 will bo available.Press Assn.
