SCOTCH CONCERT
A programme of more llian average merit was submitted to a largo attendance in the .Scottish Hall on Saturday evaiing. Vocal items were rendered by the following:—-Mrs. Hamsay, and Misses ltainsbothani, Grant, Ryder and Archibald, and Messrs H.obb and Mcl\io. A cornet solo by Mr. Campbell and recitations by Miss McLennan. Mr. Houehen delighted his audience with fun and humour. Amongst the dancing items by several experts, perhaps not one evoked more whole-hearted applause than "A number from Fairy Land," by Miss Annio Grant. This dance, which is a modern variation of the classic "Sean Triubhas," displays all the agility and grace which the mind usually associates with Fairy Land. Tht> chief (Mr. A. Campbell) accorded a hearty welcome lo a number of soldiers present, and paid a graceful tribute to the gallant young fellows. _ Mr. Cooper, on behalf of his compatriots suitably responded. The society's band, under tlio leadership ot Pipe Major Taylor, played tieveval selections during tho evening. Miss Uanlin presided at tile piano. For the benefit of disabled soldiers Mr. and' Mrs. Culford Bell will conduct the next concert.
