.— —♦— —— WON BY NAPIER OFFICER. Lieutenant P. V. Storkoy, of Napier, who is sewing with, the Australian Forces, has been awarded the Victaiia Cross for a deed which is ofhcially described as follows:-"When commanding an attacking platoon he observed, ou emerging from "a wood, 80 or 100 Gcimans, with several maohme-guns, holdin" up the advance of his troops ou his ■'•Wit. Uβ had only six men, but Lieutenant Lipseomb, with four men, joined him, and he decided to attack the enemy flank and rear. The two ofbeere and the ten men charged with Ue bayonet, Lieutenant Storkey m the lead, and expelled the enemy. They killed or wounded 30, and captured three olhcora and 50 men and tlie machine-guns.
