Heavy rain at intervals yesterday interfered with work on the wharves, but in the evening seven of the coasters wero able to sail. Of the Bhips further delayed until to-day aro the Wootton, sailing at noon foi Lyttelton, Waverley for Patea, Hawera for Tarakohe and Paiea, and Blenheim at noon for Wanganui. The Invercargill was held up at Wanganui, and she will now leave Wellington on Monday at noon for Lyttelton. |
I The Himitangi will sail to-day for Chatham Islands, via Lyttelton, to lead stock for Lyttelton and fish for Wellington. Further cargo for the Islands will be received until 11 o'clock this morning. The Tarawera. will sail, to-day for Dunedin At present she is fixed to leave that port about Wednesday for Lyttelton. Wellington, Napier, Gisborne, and Auckland. The Kennedy, bound from Waitapu to Wellington, with live stor.k, had to shelter in Picton yesterday She is due lore to-day, and when she has landed the. stock at Pctonc sho will go on the slip lor cleaning and painting, coming oil on Monday, on which day she is to start loading for Nelson and West Coast. The trans-Pacific steamer Paloona arrived at Wellington from Westport yesterday afternoon, offer having replenished her bunkers. Cargo for Amerioa will now be loaded, and on account of her late arrival yesterday her departure .tor Ban Francisco, via Rarotonga and Papeete, has been postnoncd to Tuesday at 3 p.m. The auxiliary schooncr Hunnm, from Auckland, wa* expected at Lyttelton on Thursday.
