MAGISTRATE'S COURT

VARIOUS PROSECUTIONS. Mr. P. V. Frnzer, S.M., presided over yesterday s sittings of the Magistrate's Court. Udward Murray was fined 55., with 7s. costs, for leaving a vehicle for more than five minutes in n street without some compotent person being in charge. . Ernest Kneebone was fined sa. for driva vehicle without sufficient lights. For allowing a horse to wander Horace llowm Plummer was fined 55.. with 7s costs.

In the case of William James Hunt, who was proceeded against by the City Corporation on a charge of permitting 1 oilensive matter to accumulate at his premises, 15 Tui Street, sentence was deterred, in order to jiive defendant an opportunity of disposing of two dogs, which it was alleged were responsible for the nuisance.

For failing to notify his change of abode, l-ieoU'rcy Reynolds was lined 10s.. with 7s. costs. Inspector Marsack said there was no suggestion that defendant wished to evade his military duties. His Worship said that ho would inflict a nominal penalty, but if there were many more cases tho Court would have to impose higher fines. Mira. Garner was fined ,£1 on each of two informations of having kept a dangerous dog. Defendant, for whom Mr. M P. Vor a breach of a prohibition order Patrick M'Enroe was fined .£3, in default fourteen days' imprisonment. On a charge of insobriety. Walter Kichard Leary was fined J6l. in default three days' imprisonment, and was made the subject of a prohibition order.
