CITY APPEALS LIST DEALT WITH YESTERDAY The Wellington session of tho Second Military Service Board was continued yesterday. Mr. J. W. Poynton, S.M., is chairman of tho board and tho other members are Messrs. T. A. Baumber and F. Curtice. Seafaring Men. Adjournments sine die were mado in the cases of the following, who were appealed lor bv the Union Steam Ship Co.! J. M. Gilla'mlors, F. P. Hewitt, A. It, 'Watson, J. G. Rutherford, D. Malloch, C. J. M'Pherson, A. 11. R. S. Wishart, (marino engineers), V. Annandale (cadet) avU C. 13. D. Jl'Kinlay .'ship's officer). Decision 'was reserved indefinitely in | the cases of A. H. Pryde (master mariner) and Chas. Broadley (2nd engineer). Arthur Solwyn Crosbie, marine engineer, had his case adjourned sine die. An adjournment sine die was mado in the case of Cyril D. M'K.inluy, ship's officer. * The Food Industries. Wilfred Hugh Spalton. butcher, was appealed for by bis employers, and tho case was adjourned till September. Stanley Alpkonso Grant, farmer and shearer, Lower Ilutt, was appealed for by his father, and the case was adjourned till September to be considered along with other shearers cases. The case of Thos. R. Beuge, butcher, Karori, was adjourned till July 4. Wm. G. Baird, bread maker, appealed, and his case was adjourned till .September. „ , •\n appeal for George A. Colpman, dairy farmer, Reikorangi, was dismissed, with leave till September 12. Victor N. Christopherson, butcher, Wellington, who manages a (shop at Brooklyn, was appealed for by his employer, Mr. R, C. Reid. Decision was deferred. '. . The Telegraph Department. The Telegraph Department appealed for Albert Henry Coles, sub-telegraph engiueer, Gisborue. An indefinite adjournment was made. An appeal for George .Stunt, cable hand, Rnrotonga, was dismissed, and leave till November was granted. Alfred Thomas Blomfield, wireless telegraphist, was appealed for, and an adjournment sine die was made. Other Cases.. In the case of H.' R. Cooper, soldier, Palmerston North, leave till 'October j Wa ßrt«L and F. N. Abererombie, Customs officers, were appealed for by their Department, and the cases were "t Ul ;ia"v. ?, Burne, carrier, Karori''was Mourned till Sepember. Wm. Clouston, draper, Wellington, was given leave till October a. Leonard 11. Burborongh, saddlery foieman, Petone, was appealed for by J). £. Reid his employer. The board said that the reservist was doing usefu work (making articles for the military, .and his case would be adjourned till hopember, when it may be reconsidered. John Charles Devine, storcman, proved that he was over age, and his appeal W HoiS° H d 'Marsl,all, transport worker, was given leave till October 9. . Ales.- J. Shnrdlowv apprentice fitter, ' Petone, was given leave till October to finish his apprenticeship. V P. Ikiiw, traveller, appealed on the ground that he was. an Australian citizen His appeal was allowed. Harrv Vowell, insurance canvasser, is to be'recommended for non-combatant will sit again to-day.
