Last evening the City Council privately considered the. question of pay for soldier employees, niul resolved:—"Tlmt any employee who was in the council's fter/ic.' prior lo January 1, 1915, who may bo called up or enlist for active service shall reeeivo from the corporation, in addition to his military pay and allowance?, a sura that will equalise his salary in the servieo not. exceeding .£3OO per annum; and that tlm Finance- Committee he empowered to deal with any anomaly which may arise."
