Contributions to the Countess of Liverpool Fund have been received from the following during the past week:—Foxton Patriotic Guild, Waverley Ladies' Patriotic Guild. Miss M. Bottles in large numbers have been received at the gymnasium in. the Sydney Street Soldiers' Club from Khandallah during the past day or two, and already tl)e supply which had been sent in justifies the holding of another sale shortly for tlio benefit of Navy League patriot?;! funds. Mrs. H. Probyn, of 11 Mortimer Terrace, Kpuni Street, is receiving bottles for Wellington Central, and it is hoped that everyone in that neighbourhood will send in their bottles lo that, depot. Bolero the Philosophical Society in Napier Sir Robert Stout, C.J., a lecture on "A Visit to a iiontessori School" (Wanganui Central Infants'). Before describing. in detail tho school and its management, and methods, the lecturer said he had seen very many different and gorgeous church services in many parts of the world, but, ho had never seen anything from which lie had como away so impressed as he. had come from the-simple ceremony of the opening of the Coutral Infants' School at Wanganui, to which his address referred. In it there had been a worship of the good, the beautiful, and tho true, that must make for the betterment of human kind. A very interesting overling is promised at the Sydney Street Soldiers' Club on Friday evening, when Lieutenant M'Culloch, 'E.N.R., will lecture upon various experience*, iu, the North Sea. Tho lecture will be preceded by a concert programme, arrauged by Miss Medlej, who lias secured tho services of some of Wellington's most popular performers. COAL-SAVING AND NATIONAL EFFICIENCY.
