Reid, S.M., into the matter of the construction of the new bridge over the Waingawa River was concluded today. Counsel for the local authorities other than Masterton and Wairarapa counties urged that their districts should be excluded, or that tho assessment should be reduced. Morieon, who appenrcd for Hie Masterton County Council, maintained that the Masterton borough derirnd a great advantage from the bridge, and should contribute as much as the controlling authorities. The Commissioner will probably ask for an extension of time in which to prepare bis report. . He congratulated counsel upon the expeditious manner in which they had got through tho inquiry.
