ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Victoria Bowling Club was held last evening. Mr. \i. E. Jackson presided over a largo attendance. i

Provision had been mado to retain on tho roll the names of members who had gono into eamp In bowling matches last season the club had won its section, but had Jieen defeated in the final" by Newtown the assistance rendered by tho ladies and the services of the greenkeeper wero appreciated. The balance-sheet showed an apparent loss of ,C 1 ss. 6(1., but tho club had stoclc-in-hand worth. £7 4s„ whereas the stock-in-hand a year ago was . worth only ,£l. All subscriptions had been paid, including outstnndin" amounts totalling ,£l2 13s. *Vom tho billiard-tables there was a surplus of ,£25 10s. Dd„ which would be paid over lo the gentlemen who provided the purchase money for tho tables.
Officers for the year were elected as fo low Mr. F. J. Evans; secrotary, Mr. I). C. In jigs; treasurer, Mr. w. Koid; -directors, Messrs. E. Bolton; G. E. Godber, G. Hemingway, C. B. Norwood. T. Pringle, and F. Townsend; auditor, Mr. R. Dixon; delegates to AVellinclon Centre, Mr. J. S. Keith.
EASTBOURNE CLUB. ■The annual report of the Eastbourne Bowling Club slates that substantial.additions have been made to (lie club property, a lea house having beea erected and been genuinely appreciated during the season. The seating accommodation has also been increased. A uniform locker system is also in view, and will probably be installed before the season commences, as well ,s at the entrance. Substantial donations have been promised towards the new pavilion, which will be commenced, it is hoped, when the war is over. Sincere regret is expressed at the death of Mr. A. Levy, an aotivo member of tne club. The year closed- with a credit balance. The club's champion singles was won by Mr. J. Heenan; handicap singles, A. Munroj pairs, AV. M'Donald and H. Mayer (s.); Christmas pairs, won by Pcalco and H. Mayer (s.); Easter pairs, won by B. Kelly and .T. Danks (s.). For tho first timo in its history the club came out as winnors of the centre competitions. The champion of champions singles was won by IT. Mayor, who was heartily congratulated on his *ticcc?fi, and (he champion of champion pairs was won by H. Mayor'and-Powell (s.). Sincerc thanks are extended 1.0 tho following, who have donate,l debentures: Mr. Wise, JJS: AV. Slephen, ,C 2; C. M'Keegan, <£2; P. Still, «E3 Ills.; Sir. Fleming, iCI 10s.; also to the president, Mr. IT. AV. Sliortt, for the gift of a presidents' board. Tho thanks of the members of the club are again extended to tho Lady Liverpool Committee for the way they have catored for the wants of tho members in tho matter of afternoon lea; and also to Mr. Furgott for taking tho levols of the green, etc.
