—vCOMMISSION TO ALLOCATE THE COST. (By Telegraph—Spccial Correspondent.) Masterton, Juno 24. Mr, L. G. Reid, S.M., sat as a Royal Commission in Masterton to-day to take evidence concerning the allocation of the ooßt of erecting a new bridge over the Waingawa River between .the local bodies interested. Mr. C. B. Morison, who appeared for tho Masterton County Council, x agreed that tho Eentherston Borough and the Martinborough Town Hoard should bf disci-urged from liability. Counsel for tlie Featherston County, Greytown Borough, Carterton Borough, and Mauriceville and Castlepoint Counties objected to the allocation proposed by the Masterton County. It was also contended that Feathereon County and Greytown Borough were not "adjacent' within tho meaning of the Act. Evidence was called by sevpral local bodies and the Commission adjourned until tomorrow.
