Jr. G. H. Cunningham, Government orchard instructor, gave an interesting ami practical demonstration of treo pruning m Mr. Colejiian l'hillipe's orchard, Cnrterton, on Friday, There was a good attendance of (hose interested, and the instructor's remarks were hslened to with the greatest interest. Jle gave some practical demonstrations of how to properly prune Sturmnrs. Jnsh Peaches, Jonathans, peaches and pears, and fully explained the objects of tho different cuts. The chief object was to secure thn best possible fruit in tho easiest and cheapest manner keeping tho iroes low and the fruit bearing closo to the 6(em. Mr. Butler, truant officer for the Wellington Education Board, has benn paying an official visit to the AVairanipa schools.
