SOME RECENT FICTION.

"Jitny and the Boys." ■■'.litny" is the name of a. ramshackle motor-car of a very early and' crude type, which is the proud possession of'the throe very jolly English youngsters who mo the main characters in' Air. Bennet Copplestone's very amusing story, "Jitny and tho Boys" (John Murray; per Whitcombo and Tombs). Tho three boys are Big Peter, who at tho closo of tho story (first published, by the way, in WIG) is a lieutenant on a Dreadnought; Middlesized Tony, -who is seventeen- when the ' war breaks out; and Wco Roddy. They 'aro just as much human' boys' as were Tom Sinvyor and Huck Finn, and aL though their Racial environinont is very different from that of. Mark Twain's unt'orgottablo young imps, they are fully as' fertile in thoir mischiejf-produciiig tendencies. In Jitny tho lads travel about tho Old. Country and meet witli Rurprisinj,' adventures, including tho detection and capture of a Teuton gontleman who is caught in tho act of "wiretapping." The lads' father is a welldrawn charucte l ! , , and the training, of Kitchener's Army is introduced and described in a very original and pleasant fashion. Altogether a mo,st. .enjoyable yarn, well worthy of the pen .to which we owe that later published book, "The Lost Naval. Papers."
