Sir,—ln a first-ciass non-smoking carriage, a man, sitting nest to a window, spout his time spitting on Hie ik'or. When he left the carriage a mother with babe in her arms, took the beat. If she had seen what was on the f.oor no doubt slm would have avoided the scat., but the light was dim. No law fan control such an ill-bred person. L'erhapj public opinion might do something.—l am, etc., TRAVELLER.
