FOOD SHORTAGE IN AUSTRIA

MORE GERMAN PLEDGES BROKEN STRIKES EXPECTED Amsterdam, June 19. Tho Vienna City Council has protested 1 against tho reduction of tho bread ration, but has unsuccessfully appealed to the Government tp cancel, the order. The council explains that the German Government pledged itself to distribute Hour to the civilian and military population of Austria from the Rumanian, Ukrainian, and German stocks. The de- . liveries are now in arrear to the extent of two thousand wagons, half of which, was for tiio civilians. The Food Con■troller has gone to Berlin to expedite the/ deliveries. k .'.' '.
