BRITAIN'S FOOD SUPPLIES
COMMITTEE "RECOMMENDS INCBEASED HOME PRODUCTION. (Rec. June 21, 5.15- p.m.) London, Juno 20. The report of the committee appointed by tlio Ministry of Reconstruction recommended methods of increasing tlio home-grown food supplies. The report .states Hint in future crises like tlio present Uritain must be independent of overseas supplies of corn, potatoes, aud dairy produce. It recommends that a minimum wage for agricultural labour' crs tiu<l miuimiuu juices for wheat and oats be guaranteed, that Government assistance bo given , for the establishment of the sugar beet industry, and the continuance'of the present surtax ,for ten years.—Rcutor.
