A woll-attended meeting of ratepayers .was held in tho Karori Schoolroom Inst evening to discuss the question of amalgamation between the ICarori horough anil fiie city. Mr. J. Caughley was elected eniiirman. Tho following resolution wiw carried unanimously:—'That this mooting resolve itself inlo a deputation to wait upon the-Mayor and councillors of Knrori to urge that the borough enters into negotiations with tho City Council with a view to amalgamation." It was <ilso resolved to ask the Mayor \o receive tho deputation, and .invite by advertisement all oilier ratepayers in sympathy with (he movement to'join (ho deputation nt the Karori Council Chamber on Tuesday evening next. The meeting also formulated reasons for the amalgamation and general 'basis for negotiations with the city. Mr. S. Kirkcaldio and Mr. Oanghloy were appointed to 6pcak on behalf of Tuesday's deputation.
