WYANDOTTE CLUB
i ANNUAL MEETING. I (Special Reporter.) ! Palmerston North, June 20. | The annual meeting of the New Zeal land "Wyandotte Club was held hero toi day. Jlr. John Jarvis presided. I The annual report stated tliat the year j had not been quite so prosperous as ' former years. The club had suffered from the effects of the Empire being in ! e state of war. Members bad joined the Expeditionary Forces, and several were now in tho fighting line. There had : been three additions to the list of members during the year. The club's show at | Taihape was not nearly so good in number of entries as in former years. The males in silvers were disappointing, but .' .*J;he females ' were excellent. Goldens I mustered well, with some birds of extra ; good quality. Whites ware quite the feature of the show, and Ihe cup winner ' would be hard to beat anywhere. Partridges were fairly numerous, with some good specimens amongst them. Two in- ! ciikmts occurred which might have a ! tendency to discourage members from ; exhibiting. The birds of one were not i penned until tho show was nearly over. : Some of the exhibits of another were ' reported to have' been tampered with before they left the hall. The council earnestly appealed to members to make a ■ special effort to increase membership. ; The finances are fairly good owing to the generosity of three or four members.
