— o FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications are for westerly winds, strong to gale, changing to southerlies everywhere shortly. Boisterous conditions and heavy rains may bo expected generally, with rivers rising in many parts, particularly about Cook Strait. Snow likely on the higher levels and ■ colder conditions following. The westerly storm area haß intensified considerably and a secondary disturbance has apparently developed off Cape Egmont to-day. High northerly and westerly w'nds and unsettled squally weather havo been experienced with heavy showers m most parts. Flooded rivers have been reported in Wcstland. B. V. PEMBEKTON.
