Bottles are to be asked to work for a much longer term in tho future than they have.done in the past. AVhon people realise the nioney there is in bottles it is going to be a very good thing for everybody, and, in particular, for the patriotic purposes of the Navy League. When it is known that 3s. per dozen can be obtained for ordinary quart bottles there will probably be less broken glass about some of our streets, suburban roads, and beaches, which in itself will bo an immense blessing, but with the knowledge that the saving of any kind of bottle or jar may mean better conditions for the men of tho Navy, tho spirit of economy flhould enter every patriotic breast. Bottles arc so high-priced at present that there is good competition for practically flvery lino on tho market, and no one with a proper concern for those who are doing and daring should lend countenance to any act of destruction whero bottles aro concerned. This spirit, in practice, should give every bottlo a longer' Icaso of life and usefulness, whilst at the same time it will help to win tho war in tho manner above indicated. Discussing tho new star the British "Astronomer Eoyal" states that there is do danger of .a collision between the new star and tho earth, at least, for a icentury or so. The London "Gloho" discusses tho possibility of tlm new star colliding with the earth. The journal Kays: The apectroacopo will inform us whether tho star is approaching in a straight line. Until tho parallel is calculated we cannot know its distance from the earth. If thi3 missile is flung at tho earth from tho outer depths of ppaca everything will swiftly end. Probnbly we should not even know the beginnings of the temperature, which would rise to heights unknown. FAULTY TEETH CAUSE ILLHEALTH. Protect your health by letting mo repair your defcctiro Teeth. The diseas- I ed part is carefully removed, and in the cavity firmly fixed a permanent Crown or Filling, making the tooth thoroughly serviceable. Only hopelessly bad ones extracted. All work painless. W. P. Sommorville, "The Careful Den. tot" Mfllesworth Street, Hours: 9 a.m. to 6 g.a,—AoiC
