FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. « Present indications are for a continuance of unsettled -weather and high and squally westerly winds, with heavy showers generally. Flooded rivers may bo expected in the West Coast and southernmost districts of the South Island. Barometer unsteady; falling tendency. A westerly area' of low pressure lias accounted for strong northerly and westerly winds and boisterous weather.
