The second annual general meeting »f subscribers was held on Priday afternoon, ill'. \Y. E. Bidwill, chairman, presiding; The annual report and balancesheet were adopted on the motion of the chairman, who referred to the widely admitted fact that the institution hail been a great boon to soldiers and their relatives, to the excellent services rendered by the staff, the patriotic point of view of the '.ate secretary (Air. K. A. A. Laery), and the appointment of Mr. C. .T. Carlyon to fill t.he vacancy caused by the departure of Mr. Laery i'rorn the district. He expressed the hope that additional photographs of. early settlers would be forthcoming. A resolution was passed recording sympathy with the relatives of the late Mr. AVilliam AYardell and Lieutenant Neil Pearce, antl in this connection it was decided to institute, a roll of. honour as to subscribers on active, service, also to obtain photographs in the case of those who have fallen.
The chairman paid a high tribute: In Mr. and Mrs. M. Illgar for providing and attending to the flower beds around the building. The efforts of the ladies as to entertaining soldiers also formed the subject of highly complimentary remarks.
