Tn moving the adoption of the annual report the cliaiTman referred to the big efi'ort. that was made for patriotic purposes, and it greatly redounded to the oredit of Ilio howlers of Wellington. The amount realised in the one effort had amounted *o .£7Sfl, and altogether the money raised for patriotic purposes amounted'to'over XiryiO. Tf 'other centres had done as well tliero would not have been that criticism because they went off with their bowls on a Saturday afternoon. It showed, he thought, evidence thnt they were prepared to do their bit in the way of financial support for patriotic effort. The chairman, in referring to the season's ploy, mentioned the good showing Eastbourne had made in winning two out of the three championship events. He was of opinion that the A and B system of playing the penniuit matches hail been satisfactory, and mentioned that the failing interest in the Edwin Feathers—once the 'lilue ribbon" of bowk in AYellington—wouiu be quickened if it were made n competition among the city dubs, excluding the suburban clubs. Mention was also made of the series of resolutions which had been submitted by Mr. B. W. Shallcrass in connection with co-operation in the upkeep of greens. It seemed that in the general custom of each club managing its own avail's tho advantage of co-operation had Wen !ost sight of. He hoped that delegates would 6i>i: that these proposals were seriously discussed at the annual meetings. He moved the adoption of the report.
Mr. Dimock seconded the motion, iriiich was adopted after an inconsequential discussion.
The election, of officers resulted as follows:— President, Mr. W, C. Cooper; vicepresident, Ifr. G. Hendry; lion, secretary and treasurer, Mr. ,T. J. Roberts; lion, auditor. Mr. .T. W. Kiiinibursh; executive, one delegate from each club. Mr. Mieadoweroft raised the question whether it would not be advisable to elect, their -higher officers (president or vice-president) from members of alfiliated clubs, who may not be members of the executive. The-chairman said notice of motion would be required if Mr. Mcadoweroft wished the matter discussed. 'Ihis Mr. Jleadowcroft said he would give.
The pennants and certificates won during the year were presented by the oreoidenf.
The usual honorarium for his past year's services was granted to the secretary (Mr. Roberts). It was decided fci support the nominee of the Auckland Centre for the position of president of the Dominion Bowling Association, and the Canterbury Centre's nominee for the vice-presidency of the' ;\3nOci(i.tion.
Colonel T!. J. Collins and Ifosrs. S. K. Underwood, and V. Dimock were nominated members of the council of the minion Association.
