FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications arc for strons cast to ■ Boutli winds, northwards of Farewell Spit and Kaikoura, and variable breezes, with north-westerlies ruling elsewhere. Weather cloudy and unsettled, with rain probable uencrally. Barometer falling everywhere. Two areas of low pressure arc in ovidonee, one toltlic north-east and the other to the south-west of the Dominion. Atmospheric pressure has proved unsteady in the south, but fallen considerably in the north.
