MAGISTRATE'S COURT
SMALL LIST OF CASES.
Only a brief sitting of the .Magistrate's Court was held yesterday, Messrs. J. W. iiHlison and I. Sulek being the presiding Justices.
A. soldier weaving the chevron of a covporal, named A, B. Saunderaon, alius Marshall, alias Logan, and a young woman, Myrtle Lilian Coley, were jointly/ charged that on May 22 last they obtained from Te Aro Drapery Company goods and cash to the value of JJ&J by means ot a valueless cheque.
On the application of Chief-Detective Boddam, both accused were remanded until Friday. Alabel Gioatrex, for whom Mr. H. P. U'Leary appeared, was remanded for. a week on a charge of committing an indecent act in Waterloo Quay on Saturday. Bail was allowed in the sum of JilO and one surety of JEIO. Georgo Hunter, alias Murphy, alias Smith, alias Menohinkoff, was chafed that on Mav i 1318, ho stole a tie-pm, valued at J312, tho property of Oliver Whitton Clayton. Ho was . remanded until to-morrow. For having celebrated Saturday .by imbibing not wisely but too well, ttobert O'Leary was fined JJI, and Archibald il'lntyre, and John Edward Kuox were each mulcted in a sum of 10s.
