ENGLISH PIEItKOTS. TTlo English Pierrots continue to delight largo andienccs at the Concert Ohamber of the Toivn Hall. The present programme comprißCß a series of bright and attractive numbers, and all the raoinberß of the company succeed admirably in contributing to a sparkling entertainment. All tastes are catered for. and in either humorous or serious items there is uo luck of superb talent. Hiss Elsio Kosslyn, Mr. D. Lylc, and 3fr. It. Cooke owe to to heard in some splendid songs, while Messrs. Chas. Lawrence, W. P. Turner, and Leslie Austin attend to the business of creating merriment. Jliss Ulsa Langley's artistic work in "Suzanuo'B Sabots" is very pleasing. A change of'bill will bc*given on Thursday, -KING'S THEATRE. An interesting story is told in "Whims of Society," the World drama now screening at the King's Theatre.' Ethel Clayton is featured in tile leading role, and she makes the Best of a- very dramatic part. The second big feature shows the visit of His Majesty the King to the Grand Fleet. As a spectacle it is most, impressive, and to see the seemingly endless lines of grey sea monsters is to realise at once the grim might of Britain on the seas. EVERYBODY'S THEATRE. Olive Thomas, the heroine in the Triangle feature, "Limousine Life," now being screened at Everybody's Theatre, • shows how the dangers which comfort a young country girl alone in a big city may he averted. A remarkably fine feature in this picture is the wonderful array "M dresses in the scenes, showing a fashionable modiste's shop. The second episode of "The Mystery of the Double Cross" io as mysterious and interesting as the first, and deals with the entry of the masked stranger at a critical moment in .* love scent,. EMPRESS THEATRE. A circus performance, a moonlight, ride, a bank robbery, a- cabaret fight, and sundry other equally exciting incidents go to make "The Wild Strain" a delightful screen play. Tho story is particular'y v.nit told, and contains humour and thrills which lead up to the most exciting tiniah. An educational scenic, "Trip Through Japan," is especially interesting. "THE BOHEMIAN GIRL." It -was a happy decision on the part of the Choral Union -when it was decided that Balfe's tuneful and sparkling opera, "The Bohemian Girl," was to be the first production for 1918. Lovers of good muslo'wlll revel in the familiar numbers which the opera contains. A Btrong cast of soloists -will take the .Vespective parts, headed by Miss Helen Gard'ner, who will sing the part of Arlive. Mrs. A. E. Burge will take the part or the Queen. The tenor music will be sung by Mr. Ernest Drake, of Auckland, whilst Messrs. Chas., Moore and Ben. O'Connor will undertake the bass and baritone parts respectively. Rooking at the Bristol shows that the union may expect a big audience. The final rehearsal will be held to-morrow (Wednesday) evening, in St. John's, at 7.30. A limited supply of 2b. tickets will bo on sale at the box office to-morrow and Thursday.
