LADIES' ASSOCIATION

The fourth series of games in Die first round of the ladies' competitions woro played at Karori Park on. Saturday. Tho grounds were- in tho best of condition, and fast play was the order of tho day. The following are, the results of tho various games, ) • Seniors. AVellington_ Girls' Collego A v. Ramblers A.—This game was played on' No. 1 ground, and was fast and even from start to finish. Both teams gave a fine exhibition of hockey. The passing and combination wero of the best, play travelling from end (o end every few minutes. At tho call ot time neither team had scored, the'game resulting in a draw. Mr. Cusaek had charge of the game. University v. Wellington Girls' Collego B— University' from the bully-off had the best of tha play, their combination proving too geod for their opponents. In the first spell Misses M'M'urray, Gordon, and Mills cadi scored, while in the second spell Misccs Hostick and M Murray added to the score, University winning by 5 goals to nil. Mr. R. J. Lloyd carried the whistle.

Pay Department v. Base Records.—ln the first spell Pay Department proved the best team, scoring three goals to nil. The scorers were Misses Cook, Thompson, and Adams. The second spell proved more interesting and even. The dei'enco on both sides was good, and the came ended without any further score, Pay Department winning by 3 goals to nil. Mr. A. C. Wheatley was referee. Public Trust v. Ramblers 8.-Public Trust had all the 'nest of the game, winning by i goals to nil. The scorers were Misses Gelfedder (2), M'lncmey, and M'Donald, 1 each. Mr. F. Spiers was referee. Juniors. Y.W.C.A. v.- Wellington Girls' College.—Wellington College, playing with seven plajers, suffered* a severe defeat at the hands of Y.W.C.A., the latter winning by !) goals to nil. The following were the scorers:—Misses Cameron (5), Hayvice, Muir, Reid, and Hanly, one each. Mr. B. Burn was referee. Te Aro School won by default from Pay Department. MEN'S COMPETITIONS. Eambiers A v. Y.M.C.A. A—From the bully-off Eambiers attacked, but the fine defence of Y.M.C.A. backs for a time kept the line clear. A fine forward fush ended by Johnston scoring for Kauiblgrs. For a time play was even, and then Y.M.C.A. forwards got the ball, and Brazendale found the net. •Shortly after Iris club-mate, Bascana, added onother goal. Just before halftime luic-li for' Eambiers evened the scores. In the early part of/the second spell Eambiers had all the best of the play, and Johnson scored two goals and Smith one. Towards the end of the spell Y.M.C.A. put in some effective work, and Brazendale scored his second goal. Eambiers won by 5 goals to 3. Mr. A. Edwards held the whistle.

Trentham. A v. Base Records.-Tren-tham broke away from the bully-oft' and kept Base Records on the defence for a time. It was well through the spell beforo Trentham could get an opening, and Crimp scored. Just before halftime Armund added to the score. In the second spell ploy was of a more eyen nature, both sides showing great improvement, but neither could score, and the game ended in favour of Trentham by 2 goals to nil. Mr. E. J. Lloyd was referee.

Featherston v. Trentham B.—This gamo proved interesting, both teams playing a fine,'open passing same. Each sidu scored two goals, the scorers licit 1 .;; —For Trentham Snick, and Smith for Featherston torch and Chainpness. Mr. F. Spiers had charge of the game. Y.SLC.A. B v. Y.ILC.A. C.-Thc J! team had tho test of [he play in the first spell, Hogun getting the only goal scored, while in the second spell the C team, putting more life and dash into their plav, scored two goals, Kirk being responsible for both, while Adams scored for tho B team. The game resulted in a draw, Mr. N. Selig was referee. Karori v. Pal Department—Pay Department from the word "go" made the game fast.and open, and soon had the older team on the defence. From a nice forward rush Elias found the. net. In the second spell Karori, playing with better combination, made the game fast and open, and had all the best of the play, Eeid and Jl'lntosli scoring goals. Karori won by 2 goals to 1. Mr. A. C. Wheatley was referee.
