MOTOR-CAR ACCIDENTS
EVENTFUL WEEK-END IN FEILD- • ING. By Telegraph-Press Association Feilding, June 9. Feilding had a bad week-end in tho way of motor-car accidents. On Friday evening Mr. E. G. Stapp, local postmaster, wfiilo walking. along the street, was struck by a car coming behind and was carried or knocked' twenty .feet. No bones wero' broken, but Mr. Stapp was very much bruised and will be laid up for some days. On Saturday night a telegraph messenger named R. J. Christoifersou was seriously! injured. While riding to work he was knocked down by a car ah"l was picked up unconscious. It was found that his skull was fractured, .in eai vas torn off, and there were other injuries. He was taken to Palmerston Hospital, and at latest advice is still in a dangerous condition. He is tho eldest sou of a widowed mother. In another accident, two cars met head-on while travelling on the Awahuri Road. Tho cars wero damaged, but the occupants were unhurt. Two ladies driving a gig along the road collided with the wrecked cars, but again no ma was hurt.
