Timber merchants are protesting' against the New Zealand National Effi-; cicney Board's reconiinoiidation to prohibit tho export of. timber, particularly white pine required for tho boxing of meat, butter, and rabbits for, tho Imperial Government, owing to the ehortape of colonial timber.
