ENEMY FIRM WOULD UP
CONTINENTAL TYKE COMPANY. The Continental C. and G. Kubber Co. Pty., Ltd., which shortly after tho outbreak of war was declared an enemy firm within tbe'meaning of tho Trading With tho Enemy Act, is shortly to iJjb finally wound up (states the Melbourne "Age"). An order to this effect has been issued oil behalf of the Public Trustee. When the company lirsc came within tho ban of; the Trading With the Enemy Act tho matter was taken to tho High Court, and a controller was appointed to take charge of ■ tho company's affairs. Permission wits granted to carry on business in the usual way, but this was subsequently withdrawn, and tho stocks of tho linn were withheld from sale. A small quantity of goods, however; w;as disposed of, but only with the special sanction of the Federal Attornoy-Gcnoral. Sinco an order has been issued requiring the affairs of tho company to 'be wound up, the controller will take steps to dispose of its entire stock, 'flic, cqmlitions of sale will shortly be advertised. It may be that tho goodwill ot' the company will lw sold as a going concern, with book debts, eic,, or tliat_ tenders will bo called for the stock, either as a whole or in lots to suit purchasers, Tho method of disposal of the goods has to bo determined by tho Public Trustee, to whom all funds will eventually have to bt> luinded over.
