LADIES' ASSOCIATION The series of games in iho third round o the Indies' competitions were played tu Karori Park on Saturday. Tlie game between Woll/.igton Girl's College A and University was well worth seeing. Both • earns played with great combination, end gave a good exhibition of hockey,,. SENIOHS. _ Wellington Girls' Collego A v. Univer-fity-University attacked from, Iho liully-off, and for a time kept College lacks busy, but could not reach the nrcle. I'rom a free hit college carried ■iday right down the Held, but lost a possible score by off-side play. Play fori ;i time was very oven, the ball traveling from end to end, but the fine defence of both sides could not be broken aown - University forwards rushed play into the College circle, only to be sent jiack by a finu drive, and College, geting tho best of the piny, Miss Marchbanks finished up by scoiing. The second spell opened well for University, who turn after time carried ;nay into''College quarters, but the fine defence of the backs kept them from Monng. The play right throughout the '•l>ell was very fast, both sides showing pood combination. University did moat |'f the attacking, but could not score. Miss • M'Kenzie -.(College), at full-back, was the mainstay, and through her hit.mg and judgment saved her.side. The tamo finished in favour of College by wo goals to nil. Mr Cusack was referee.
PAY DEPARTMENT V. KAMBLERSB
In tho first .spoil Gamblers for a time had the best of the play, Miss W. Simon scoring. Pay Department, after a time, ,!Mt into their stride, and/playing with better combination, . kept Ramblers on 'ho defence, and before half-timo was called, Misses Thompson and Lornan each cored. The second spell showed much improvement in- both sides, the play being both ■ast and, open. Miss Lambert? scored tor Ramblers, and the game' resulted in n draw, each side scoring two goals, Mr. Wlieatley had charge of the, game. PUBLIC TRUST' V. HUAHATI. Public Trust had all the best of the game, playing with better combination. Huahati put up a great fight, playing a fino defensive game. Public Trust scored ono.goal in each spell (Miss Gillfedder scoring on each occasion), and won by two goals to nil. Mr. Lloyd was referei-. Ramblers A won by default over .liasoN Records. , JUNIORS. Tho Y.W.C.A. v.; To Aro School game ended in a draw. la the first spell Y.W.C.A. 6cored, Misa Reid being the scorer. In the second spell To Afo School i had a goal awarded them through a breach of a penalty bully by Y.W.C.A. Mr. Necdbam, hud charge of the game. Wellington Girls' Collego won by default over Pay Department. MEN'S COMPETITIONS,
In the men's competitions the play all round showed a gnat improvement. TRENTHAM A V. Y.M.C.A. A. This game was played on No. 1 ground, and resulted in favour (>{ Trentham by eight goals to one. . Trentham had all flie l>est of the gaine, scoring three goals to nil in the first spell, the scorers being Heap (2) and Harman (1;. In tho second spell play opened up evenly, Harman seorfilg for Trentham, while .Brazeridalo scored for. Y.M.C.A.. Then Trentham secured tho upper hand, and Harman added three more-goals and Norton one. Tho. whistle sounded. with Trentham attacking. Mr. Edwards was referee. BASE RECORDS V. Y.M.C.A. B. Base Records after a hard-fought gamo defeated Y.M.C.A. by three goals to nil, all scored in the first spell, O'Brien scoring two and l'errin one. The second spell was, even, piny being fast and open,.both sides losing many chances to score. Mr. Boyd was referee. TRENTHAM B V. PAY DEPARTMENT Trontham had an easy win over Pay Department by seven goals to one. The scorers for Trentham were Champness (3), Lorek (3), Taylor (2), while Proctor scored for Pay Department. Mr. Burn was referee.. KARORI V. Y.M.C.A. C. Karori easily defeated Y.M.C.A. by nine goals to nil. The scorers were: Kirby, Johnson, Hillard, Connell, Sixby, Burton, MTarlane, and ■ Enislie. Mr. Lloyd referecd. RAMBLERS V. FEATHERSTON. In tha first spell play was fast, both sides playing well together. Ramblers always showed to advantage in tho finer points, and goals were scored by Kuch . (2), Smith (t), Ega'n. (Fcathcrston) (1). , In tho second spell Ramblers had tho be6t of tho play, scoring four goals to nil. Thorpe (2), Wheutley, and Johnson (oho each). Ramblers thus won by seven to one. Mr. Wheallcy carried the whistle.
