At Kansas City, Rose Pastor Stokes, wifo of the 'millionaire (Phelps Stokes), was sentenced to ten years' imprisonment for an espionage act. She wrote- a letter , to a newspaper, charging the Government with favouring profiteers.—Aus.N'.//. Cable Assn. [Both Stokes and his wifo have for many years been engaged in Socialist activity, and have been active in propaganda work for the advancement of Socialism. Mrs. Stokes is a Russian by birth.
