COAL OR SLACK?
raiNCTPAL OF GTCLS' COLLEGE j PROTESTS. '' Miss Bathara, Principal of the Girls' College, voiced a general complaint when, in writing to the College governors, she wished to know if they could do anythine to improve the. quality of the coal that was being sent to the college. She said that it was almost wholly slack, which burned with difficulty. Professor EnsterfieW thought that screened coal could now be obtained from one company. The chairman (the Hon. J. G. AV. Aitkeri) said that they would probably have to pay an extra lfe. a ton for it. Professor Easterfield: "Not if we undertook to always take the coal of this company." The matter is to be inquired into. .
