THE PRICE OF WOOL
Sir,—When writing last week on the subject or wool prices I had no knowledge of the negotiations pending between the freezing companies and the Government relating to the price, of slipe wool, and it occurs to me that as the Imperial Government has conceded the higher Home values as an index to the freezing companies, they may not be unwilling lo review the greasy wool co.'itract and concede the same terms to the farmer. They are receiving our wools at less Ihnn Half fr.be price now being paid for ■Home wool and that from other British possessions, and can well afford to do so. If they should refuse sline wool terms to farmers, they might agree to renew thoir ori.sfnnl offer of 45 per icertt. over pre-war Homo prices, refused under a. misconception, and which is actually 4d. per 11). IjpUoi' thnn the average price of is. 23d. now being paid under the existing contract.—l am, etc., FAFMEK.
