COAL TRADE REGULATIONS
An amendment to tho Coal Trade regulations made pursuant to the War Regulations Amendment Act, 1916, is published in a Gazette Extraordinary. Tha new- regulations, which, it is declared, shall be read together with, and deemed part of, the regulations previously made, read :— "1. Nothing in ihose regulations shall apply—(a) To any coal delivered pursuant to a permit issued by a Coal Trado Committee or by the Minister in Charge in puifumnce of tho provisions in that behalf of clause 5 of the amending Coal Trado Regulations of August 28, 1917; or (b) To any coal delivered elsowhero than in an area within which these regulations have been declared by tho Minister in Charge, by notice in the Gazette, to bo in force. "2. (1) Tho Minister in Charge may, by notice In tho Gazette,' declare that these regulations shall be in force generally throughout Now Zealand, or in such, area or areas as may be specified in such, notice. (2) Any uotice issued by the Minister in Charge under this regulation mav be in "like manner revoked. "3. .Subject to the provisions of clauss 1 of these regulations it shall not bo lawful for any person to deliver or be concerned in'the delivery of any screened coal or of any coal-nuts to any person m •anv area in which these regulations aro in'force, unless at tho same time hp delivers to that person an equal quantity by weight of steam coal or of .small coal or coke.". ~ •. A further notice declares that the said regulations shall, as from the dato of the publication of the notice in the Gazette, bo in force in the City of Wellington, tho Boroughs of Onslow Potone, Lower Ilntt, Easlboinm »nH the Johnwnriile Town District, and tho localities known respectively as isgahauranga and Day's Bay.
