The Committee states that seventy thousand citizens, tho majority of whom are Social Democrats, and. including thirty thousand civilians- have been imprisoned and biu-
tally treated. A wholesale slaughter of tho prisoners was commenced by Finnish troops, assisted by tho Germans. One hundred and fifty-eight women prisoners were killed in one day at Lachti, many being Sisters of Mercy. Tho Red Guards are being killed without trial by field court-martial. Commanders of attachments are still condemning persons to death en masse, although tho civil war is over.
