SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY

A highly-successful concert was given by Madame Dempster to her guests, tho seamen in port, at the Sailors' Friend Society on Tuesday. With music, story, song, and recital tho evening passed too rmiekly. The performers wero Mesdames Dempster, Hopkins, and Patterson, and the Misses Madison, Clapp, l'rixthall, and Iliggins, and Messrs. Dempster and Stirling. Mndame Dempster and Miss Prixthall wero at tho piano. Mr. G. De.nton gave another of his chats on "Temperance." Mr. Moore was in tho chair.
