FINE WEATHER STILL
Yesterday was again beautifully tine for the lime of 'the year. Present indications aro for changeable, weather, with scattered showers, especially in the northern and East Coast districts.
A. well-attended aud enthusiastic meetins' l| t householders met at the Cross i .'reek School 011 Monday for the purposo of clotting ii committee for (ho ensuing year. The nominations were: Messrs. William llaird, Robert Johnson, Cluls •\nderson, Frederick Sefton, Hurry Head, George Devenport, and Edward Creelman. Tiie result was that Messrs. Creelman (chairman), Devcnport (secretary), Jlead, Johnson, and Soflon were elected. The teaehing staff received many compliments, and the Education Department i» to reccive .applications for financial assistance. The word ".kindergarten" is German for children's garden. Why. 111 inaliinj the rccent change in the title from the Richmond l'Vee Kindergartens, writes a correspondent, was not the German word jettisoned altogether? The words "children's garden" would hardly convey a proper impression of the premises at the corner of Tarnnaki and Frederick Streets which arc situated over two Chinese shops. Honest English is what everyono wants at (he present time, uot German camouflage.
