GREY ELECTION
CANDIDATES' LAST SHOTS. By Telegraph-Presß Association. Grcymouth, May 28. The last shots of the candidates for the Grey election are being fired tonight. After a strenuous three weeks' campaign the supporters of Mr. Coates are-holding a social in tho Town Hall, while at tho Opera House a huge Labour rally is in progress 011 behalf of Labour .Messrs. Paul, Howard, Eraser, and 0 Brien holding forth, and Jlr w Holland, supported by Mr. Walker, M.P., is speaking at Reefton. The contest .'lias been to'ught in tho keenest manner. Mr. Holland will have the united support of Labour, which is a big factor in these parts, while Mr, Coates looks to the supporters of tho National Government. There are fine weather prospects for election day, and a record poll and a close contest are expected. Hectors of Grey who aro for the time being out of the district, and who have provided themselves with absent voters'
permits, may register' their votes at post offices. Soldiers in camps .have the 6ame rights as other absent voters. They may vote it' they are on the Grey roll of electors, and if they have obtained absent voters' permits.
