Haislip, commander of an American destroyer, despite tho danger of explosion and the terrific heat from the burning vessel, drovo through the flaming wreckage, rescuing thirty-four who otherwise would have beon doomed. The rescuers liavo been recommended for medals — Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
