ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
FATAL FALL OVER A CLIFF. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, May 27. Stanley C. Lriicvrc,' aged 35, was killed on Saturday at Fisherman's Bay. near Akaroa, through falling over a cliff 300. feet. high. It is not known how tho accident occurred. Deceased had a farm in the neighbourhood, but resided at Akaroa in tho winter months. Ho went to the .farm in the morning, and a.s he did not arrive homo in the evening, search parties went out, the body being found among the rocks. Deceased was the elder son of Mr. E. E. Lnliovre, and grandson of one of tho first French settlers nt Akaroa. He leaves a widow and three children. RAILWAY FATALITY. Dannevirke, May 27. A fatal accident occurred at Dannevirke railway station at noon Jo-day. An elderly. man, named Harrv Austin, in attempting to board a train for Wellington, fell under the carriage, mid died from the injuries received. Deceased was a widower, and had no relatives in the Dominion.
