..' RESOLUTION OP FARMERS' UNION. By Tolegraph-Press Association. Christchurch, May 23. Tiio Provincial Conference of the Farmers' Union to-day passed the following resolution: "(That whereas a largo number of reservists are not obtaining exemption whose retention in the country is essential in the publio interest, we suggest that provision should be made whereby every oase -shall bo investigated by the local committGo of atlvico of the /district in whioh, tho reservist resides, •such committee to report to the' Advisory Committee, stating whether in their opinion the reservist could serve his coun- ■ try better by remaining or by being sent to camp.''"
