WAIKATO WINTER SHOW
RECOED DAIRY FACTORY ENTRIES. It is a significant coincidence that immediately following the establishment of the Waikato Winter Show in 1907 the dairying industry of Waikato showed fiigna ol rapid development, and has continued to improve, until to-day it has attained tremendous volume. In the dairy section the Waikato Winter Show has stood on the top rung of the ladder, and the display of butter and cheese is said .to be greater than anything in the t-outh-eru Hemisphere. The following comparison of dairy factory entries received by the Waikato Winter Show Association will give some idea of the .marvellous growth of this institution: — ' 1907' 3 1908 13 1909 ...... ,'iti 1910 G9 1911 50 1912 ISO 1913 200 101-1 245 1915 293 1916 330 1917 434 , 1918 476 The "Winter Show enables the resources of the Woiknto district to be forcibly impressed on the peoplo of the Dominion. Tho show is primarily and particularly held for the uplifting of agriculture and for the betterment of farming and dairying industries generally, and to educate, inspire, and broaden thought along the lines of development.
